First ride- Gemini Titan
I really liked this light. The beam pattern was wide and filled the trail with light.,I went with the light on the bars. We compared the Gemini Titan to the Magicshine and found that the Titan was brighter, not sure if this is the case with all there lights but mine was brighter.
Four out of the five riders tonight were running Magicshine lights and we compared my light to there's.
The only thing I'm not thrilled with was the battery strap. It worked but seemed light it would slide around on the bike( It didn't) I hope they re-design. Besides that the light worked great.
We rode for about two hours tonight and I could have been more happy with the light.
I plan on posting pictures soon and a short video....
More Details on the light it self:
Gemini Titan light details:
- Brightness: 900 Lumens
- Run Time: 4+ Hours on High Mode
- 3 Modes: High, Low, Flash
- LED Model: SSC P7
- Light Housing: Anodised, Anti-abrasive, T6 Aircraft Aluminum
- Battery Overcharge Protection
- Low Battery Warning
- IP65 Water Resistant
- MSRP $130.00 USD
A set of 4 Li-ion 18650 5000mAh 7.4V batteries wrapped in a blue plastic covering, that does not appear to be totally waterproof, but does include a Velcro-ed wrapping case. Without the case the batteries weighed 197g, and with the case 215g. The battery pack charge maxed out at 8.27V, usually charging within 3h 15min to 3h 20min.

Gemini Lights
I have some Gemini lights on the way,http://gemini-lights.com/home to be honest I can't wait to get them out on the trails.
I've been riding with a Niterider Trinewt for the past two seasons. This season I decided I really need an addition to the Trinewt or just upgrade, but I can't see my self spending $500 plus on a light.. I did look at the Niterider1200, Pretty sweet light.
After looking on the web for sometime I decided on the Gemini Titan. I couldn't beat the price, the warranty looks good and if it performs like the Magicshine lights then I know I make a good choice.
I have about four friends who run the Magicshine lights and they couldn't be more impressed with the beam pattern and light output on the trail.
I plan on doing a write up when I get my hands on the Gemini Lights.... Can't wait
Update....Light came today and I'm impressed! Packaged very well and has a nice case to store the light in.
I charged it and played around a little today and the first thing I noticed was how damn bright it was.
With the rain today I hope to out on the trails in a day or two, so I will give you a full ride report.

Oroville
Daniel and I were able to get a ride in today in Oroville. Turned out to a great day to be out on the trails.
Super fast and tacky with the rain yesterday made for very fun single track. We made our way back on a service road that seemed to never end.

Well the rain is back.....
The Tue and Thur Rides are still going even though the park is closed. We ride out side the park or travel over to Oroville where the trails never close. Don't let all the rain stop you from getting out.
What do you like to do when the rain is falling?
I'm planning on getting a Go Pro and posting more local videos on here.

Rain is back
Well since the rain is back the only option is riding in Oroville.
I know a couple of people suggested doing the Tue night ride over there since the park will be closed.

Dear Trail Users,
I wanted to let you all know that we will host a Pre-Planning Trail meeting on December 1, at 4:00 pm in Conference Room 2 of the City Council Chamber Bldg (421 W. Main Street). This is an informational meeting and we will provide information on past and current trail projects, volunteer opportunities, upcoming trail planning efforts, and public input opportunities.
Please invite other interested parties and RSVP to me so that we have enough materials and space. If you can't make this meeting, please check our Natural Resources Committee agenda items for future trail discussions on the web at http://www.ci.chico.ca.us/government/minutes_agendas/bidwell_park_playground_commission.asp.
Cheers.

Hey Larry, can you forward this to all the mountain bikers.....
The City of Chico has some trail work plans, one of which is the current work on Middle Trail. Many persons have been in an uproar over the work, especially in the "toilet bowl" area. I spoke with Dan Efseaff, the Natural Resources Manager, in reference to the work being done. Currently there is no means for communication and input for the work being done with the public. With that comes misunderstanding of the work as well as criticism that could be used for constructive purposes. Dan is suggesting a series of meetings for such communication, so the work can be explained and input be taken in before the work begins. With enough input, perhaps the trail work can be done to accommodate the interests of all park visitors, including mountain bikers. Persons wanting to be involved in this process should email Dan at DEfseaff@ci.chico.ca.us
Thanks
